Time to dust off the shovel, drag out the winter boots and find the windshield car scraper - all for that four letter word - SNOW!  Snow can be very lovely and we all don't mind a sprinkling of the white stuff around December 25th. But we all remember the hazardous side of snow from last winter, and definitely don't want to go thorugh that again.  But snow may lead to the five letter word - SANTA - so I guess we'll take it.

Interestingly enough, in real estate, more homes sell with snow on the ground, although they don't necessarily close then, so bring on the snow!  And savvy buyers know that this is the best time of year to buy, as sellers who have their homes on the market now, are very motivated and definately want to sell.  If I can be of help to you or any of your circle of friends, just get in touch.

Traditionally the market slows down at this time of year as everyone readies for the holidays.  The best time to put a home on the market is in the spring, which is February or sooner, not May! Last year we started off the year with a bang and it continued all year.  Prices went up 7.5% over last year in Durham, and we anticipate another boomer year next year as well, as interest rates remain low, the jobless rate is down to its lowest in years and home ownership is still the best investment. If you need to have any questions answered, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Our office, RE/MAX JAZZ,  continued to grow this year - we now have over 160 agents to help sell a home.  We are the biggest in the area and as well we have garnered the largest market share! Our brokers continue to give us continuing education on all aspects of the real estate process, from the changing legal angles, updated forms and procedures as well as how to best service our clients.  A Happy Seller or Buyer is our best advertisement and word of mouth is the best recommendation so pass it on...

As always let me know if I can be of assistance now or in the new year. I am never too busy to assist any of your referrals as well.  Look for my calendar in the early new year.

I leave you with some classic winter pictures, just to get you in the mood ... Happy Holidays to you and yours.    winter1 winter2

Happy Holidays and enjoy the snow!
